The obverse shows a portrait of the President's likeness, their name, the number in which president they were, and the years in which they served.
The reverse features a Statue of Liberty design done by Don Everhart of the United States Mint, along with the words "United States of America" and "."
These coins feature a lettered edge with the words "E Pluribus Unum," "In God We Trust," its year of mintage and its corresponding mint branch - (P) for Philadelphia or (D) for Denver.

President William Howard Taft was the 27th President of the United States. An Ohio native, Taft was born in 1857 in Cincinnati, where he would eventually practice law with the intention of someday joining the Supreme Court. He graduated from Yale College in 1878, and graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and was admitted to the Ohio State Bar Association in 1880. He rose through the ranks quickly from county prosecutor, to federal circuit judge, then he was appointed as U.S. Solicitor General by President Harrison. Under President McKinley he served as governor general of the Philippines and he served as Secretary of War under President Roosevelt. In 1906, Roosevelt offered Taft the chance opportunity to become a Supreme Court Chief Justice - just as he’d always dreamed - or President. Taft initially chose Chief justice but then was swayed to run for President by his wife Helen “Nellie” Herron and President Roosevelt. He became President on March 4, 1909 and served one term through 1913. Post presidency, Taft taught Constitutional Law at his Alma Matter, Yale College, and also served as a U.S. Supreme Court Chief Justice for eight years. He is the only person in history to have been both President and a Chief Justice. William Howard Taft died at the age of 72 in March of 1930, only a month after he retired from the Supreme Court.
