    Description

Mitchell & Ness reproduction of  1936 Boston Braves jersey.  Size 56.  Bought used and wore just a few times.  Love this jersey but just too big,
A Great story.  The Boston Braves mostly had below average seasons. And also they were competing with the Boston Red Sox over in the American League and the Braves were in the National League ( as they are now as the Atlanta Braves).  In a desperate attempt to increase attendance they signed an over weight, beyond his career Babe Ruth.  Supposedly Ruth thought they signed him so he would eventually be their manager but management did not this seriously.  So once Ruth realized this he always stayed on the roster for about 2 months. The other Brave players disapproved playing with him because he could no longer play the outfield in his condition.  After he left the season continued downward and they won only approximately 35 games...losing around 110.!
So for 1936, so to put this horrible season behind them, they changed their name to the Bees.  Safe to say the name change did not bring them a lot of better luck and they changed the name back to the Braves in 1942.
    Good luck on your Bid
