Description
Hello folks - some of you might remember that I designed a dual digital DDS VFO for the Drake TR-5 / 7, Ten-Tec Omni, Triton, etc, etc. The unit could either be installed within the radio or housed externally. As a matter of fact, some of you purchased kits to build this unit following the instructions on my website.I'm selling the prototype, feature rich DDS VFO that I've been using with one of my TR-7s. It comes completely assembled (quality new Mouser and eBay parts), aligned and tested for use with either the Drake TR-5 or TR-7 radios. It's a plug 'n play device that replaces the RV-7. Just plug it into the RV-7 socket and turn it on at which point it will disable the TR-7's internal PTO. Turn it off and the TR5 / 7's PTO controls the radio. Simple, yes?
While the TR-7's internal PTO tunes 25 Khz per revolution, the DDS VFO's optical encoder tunes more smoothly at 5Khz per revolution. There's also a fast tune button which - when pressed - lets the user rapidly QSY from one end of the band to the other with less than one turn.
The DDS VFO offers two independent (software) VFO's, true SPLIT operation, RIT, Frequency Locking, Stored Frequency Recall.
Most importantly - it's extremely stable - It won't drift.
It was designed with a 7Mhz 7 element Butterworth filter to eliminate spurs (carefully check the attached schematic).
There's far too much to mention in this post, but my website describes it in detail along with the simple command structure.
Again, it just plugs into the TR-5 - TR-7's Remote VFO socket.
If you're contemplating finding and then buying a Drake RV-7 just to work DX positioned split operators and / or to 'spot' one DX station in QSO while trying to pounce on another, why not seriously consider this unit?
Shipping costs set to - CONUS only - No international shipping and no returns.
PS - the Drake TR-7 shown in this auction is obviously not included in this auction
