Many K2’s listed in eBay are Rev.A models or are missing Modules. This transceiver has been upgraded to the latest Rev. B Factory Specs at a cost of over 0 in parts and firmware, and over 40 manhours of bench work, and recently calibrated & aligned. The KIO2 interface is upgraded to latest F/W and tested with a KAT100. List price on this K2 as outfitted is currently over ,000 as of 7/2021.
RF output measures 6.5 watts on 160 meters and 10 watts on all other bands, including 10 meters.
*The KBT2 battery is removed from its bracket to avoid damage during shipment and is not installed. You will have to install it back yourself, connect the supply leads to the main board, although the K2 will run without it from a 13 volt DC source using the supplied 13.8 VDC Power cable and is much lighter for portable use without the Elecraft Lead Acid sealed battery.
Reason for selling is that I just purchased both an Elecraft KX-3 and a K3, so I’m thinning out my older equipment.
This transceiver is in excellent working condition, but I don’t accept returns due to people who initially buy and then swap parts.
No microphone is included. (This rig is jumpered to use a Kenwood MC-43S, which works great with the K2. The manual shows how to jumper the Control Board for other microphones.)
