    Description

This is an ICOM model # IC-22A 2-Meter FM Ham Radio Mobile Transceiver from a local Amateur Radio Operator/s Estate. It is capable of up to 22-channels of crystal-controlled operation, and there are 14-pairs of crystals installed. The picture of the yellow sheet that came with ithe transceiver shows the frequencies of the crystals - all are in the 146-147 MHz range, except for two pairs that are in the 143 and 148-MHz range - probably for some CAP or MARS VHF channels. For some reason, there appear to be two-pairs of 146.76 crystals installed - looking at the actual crystals, that appeared to be correct as shown on that yellow sheet.
This IC-22A appears to be working, but due to being used electronics and "parts swappers" (yes, I've actually had that happen to me), it is being sold As-Is under eBay's condition grading of "For parts or not working" and no returns are accepted. The Volume and Squelch controls are somewhat scratchy, so they could probably use some DeOxit or other similar contact cleaner, and the Meter bulb needs replacement. The DC power cable is only a few inches long, and the fuse and fuse holder need replacement.
At a local two-way radio shop, I connected this IC-22A to a +13.8V DC power supply, and tested it using an IFR-1200 Service Monitor. I tested the radio on Channel #1 - 146.940 Simplex, The Receiver made noise, which the squelch control quieted when rotated clockwise, and a weak signal of 0.2 uV provided a good-quieting signal. I shorted the PTT line in the mic jack, and observed 8-watts output on High Power, and 0.5 watts output on Low Power. I didn't have a microphone, so no transmit deviation was checked. You can see the Transceiver being tested in the last picture.
The specs rate this as a 10-watt/1-watt transmit power radio when it was new. No microphone or manual were included. I'm selling this radio in case someone needs parts or crystals. These were very popular radios for Packet Radio use.

Shipping will be via FedEx, and the shipping charges will be .85 to CONUS ONLY locations, based on another ICOM IC-22A I recently shipped.
Any International sales must use eBay's Global Shipping Program service, where I ship the units to their forwarding center in Kentucky, and eBay takes care of the necessary customs, etc. paperwork, and then they ship onward to the winning bidder. No Direct Overseas Sales!
Because of the shipping arrangements that are done out-of-state, I am not able to combine shipment of multiple items. I ship via FedEx within five days of auction end and receipt of payment. By the time the item is put up for auction, it has already been packed for shipping.
Please understand that once I've dropped off an item to be shipped at FedEx, I have no further control of when it will actually arrive at your location. Occasionally, the shipping company routes the package through some far, out-of-the-way locations which can greatly delay the shipping time, compared to what eBay quotes for delivery times.
Please see my other auction listings for additional Amateur Radio transceivers, accessories and Electronic items.
    Thanks for looking!
