Up for sale I have a USED KENWOOD TR-7400A 2 METER VHF FM TRANSCEIVER AND DIAMOND ROOF RACK NMO ANT MOUNT. I bought this radio back in May for a new ham. He now wishes to buy a brand new 2 meter radio that also does C4FM. So up for sale this old Kenwood goes. It DOES work,, both receive and trasmit. As you can see in the pictures,, my MFJ swr, power meter reads about 5 watts on low,, and about 25 watts on the hi setting. Please note the MFJ meter IS NOT included with the radio,, it is only for showing the rig's output power. ALL controls, switches, knobs, and buttons work as they should. All segments of the frequency read-out work also,, along with the meter. I myself love these old analog meters,, I wish the newer rigs had analog meters on them. Comes with the orginal hand microphone, power cord, and moble mounting bracket,, which is "usually missing" from these older rigs. A photo copy of the owner's manual, and a photo copy of the service manual are included. Being over 40 years old,, it does have the usual scratches, marks, dings, and dents. But overall,, it does not look too bad for it's age. I have seen a lot worse listed here on E-Bay over the years. The only "thing missing" is the CTCSS tone board. I did manage to find a after market tone board that does BOTH enc and dnc. It will require someone with a little electronic "savvy" to wire this board in the right place. The Diamond NMO Roof Rack antenna mount is also used,, but still in good working order. There is NO whip, or loading coil,,, just the nmo roof rack mount, coax cable, and connector. What you see in the pictures,, is what you will get,, EXCEPT mfj meter. These items will be well packed for safe shipping.
