I offer you a VRM 5080 radio station manufactured by Racal.
The radio is a modern device, the last one in the analog series.
It was designed for armored vehicles and command nodes.
Particular attention was paid during its design to the sensitivity of the receiver, resistance to skew modulation and high output power, not lower than in older tube devices, i.e. full 50W in the antenna.
The device also provides a built-in function for testing the efficiency of the radio and the ability to disconnect the entire control panel (keyboard + display) and control the radio using the panel from a distance of up to 10 m.
The entire connection between the desk and the transceiver is made via a regular 3-wire cable. The radio can store 10 channels.
It is possible to transmit data using the built-in modem with a speed of 16 kbit / s.
The entire radio station is built in through-hole technology.
It has a modular design.
Standard CMOS 4000 series systems are used as the basis of the elements.
I think that thanks to its design it is susceptible to various modifications.
The audio equipment for the Clansman family radio is compatible with the radio.
The device has a switchable IF path width, and also works with two deviation widths. Thanks to this, work with older and newer types of radio stations was ensured.
