    Description

    Silver Moroccan Headdress "Talgamut"
    This is a great, complete ANTIQUE SILVER "TALGALMUT" HEADDRESS from Imerhane, Southern Morocco.  Please see the photos for measurements as this is a difficult piece to measure.  The headdress is complete and features coins from several different countries (Morocco, the US and France), Turquoise or green, maroon, orange and yellow paint (now mostly traces, which has a lovely effect on the piece's aesthetics), and lots of chains.  The central cabochon is glass.  It weighs approximately 261 grams.  The old photo was taken from an unknown source on the internet; it shows the traditional use of this type of headdress.
