Spilsbury SBX-11A Transceiver this is currently in working condition but as with all older used electronics there is no warranty and no returns accepted. This has 9 new Akaline energizer batteries installed yesterday. I also have a wire antenna for this that was used in the Alaskan bush.
The SBX-11/SBX-11A is a four channel, all solid state, portable SSB transceiver with a power of 10 Watts PEP. Each channel is capable of simplex or semi-duplex operation within the range of 1.6 to 10.0 MHz. The internal power supply consists of nine D-cell batteries- disposable alkaline or rechargeable Ni-cad/ NiMH.
These radios were developed for use in the Canadian arctic and have been the HF radio of choice for many Polar expeditions. The entire unit, including transceiver, batteries, and microphone, is enclosed in a rugged corrosion resistant weatherproof aluminum case. The weight is approximately 8 lbs. with.batteries installed. The overall dimensions are 12.75 inches long, 9 inches wide and 3.25 inches high. Condensed operating instructions are provided in the cover of the unit.
